Keystone Mental Health Services at Our Little Haven invites applications for a Clinical Administrative Assistant-Biller. Under the supervision of the Director and the Associate Director of Clinical Programs, the Clinical Administrative Assistant (CAA) provides administrative support for Keystone Outpatient Mental Health Services and Our Little Academy (OLA) Day Treatment Services. Keystone serves all ages, with specialization in services to the very young child. OLA serves toddler age children. The position includes 3 areas of responsibilities: clinical support to mental health practitioners; clinical office management; and mental health billing and follow-up for insurance claims.
Clinical support includes making reminder calls to clients, greeting clients, and coordinating first appointment paperwork. These duties require the CAA to treat clients and co-workers with personalized attention, respect, and utmost confidentiality. The CAA maintains paper and electronic client charts, files clinical documents, and scores clinical assessment measures using scoring software.
Office management duties include using office equipment (copier/fax) and maintaining office supplies for clinical services.
Billing and follow-up for insurance claims requires determining insurance eligibility for clients, and maintaining familiarity with medical billing guidelines, credentialing of practitioners, insurance panels, and contracts. It also requires entering billing data in medical claims and 3rd party payer software programs for Psychological and Psychiatric services. S/he will track, research, correct, and re-submit rejected or denied claims.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate; prefer an Associate’s degree
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Experience working in a professional and sensitive manner with children, adults, families, and other professionals from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds
- Understand and adhere to HIPAA, confidentiality, and other laws protecting client rights
- Experiencedetermining insurance eligibility, credentialing, medical billing (especially Medicaid), 3rd party payers, and insurance panel contracts
- Able to perform tasks with precision, accuracy, and careful attention to detail
The Keystone Mental Health practice serves a diverse population with various presenting problems and concerns. We are located in the Central West End; the heart of St. Louis city. This facilitates service to clients from various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. The practice is located in a renovated 3-story building that offers a warm, family-friendly, bright atmosphere. Staff may conveniently park free in the agency’s lot in the rear of the building. In addition to the CAA position, the Keystone treatment team consists of Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, part-time Psychiatrist, Registered Nurse, and Clinical Intake Coordinator.
