Residential Treatment
Therapeutic residential treatment provides 24-hour care with intensive early intervention services for young children. Our Little Haven is licensed to provide care for children ages birth through their 10th birthday. Children placed at Our Little Haven may be in the foster care system or may be receiving supportive services through Adoption Subsidy or may be referred through the MO Department of Mental Health. Foster children may have been removed from parental custody due to abuse, neglect or abandonment and in need of specialized care. Adoption Subsidy children may receive specialized services to help stabilize childrens' behaviors and maintain placements in their adoptive homes. DMH clients may receive professional therapeutic assessment and treatment. All services are provided in a warm, supportive homelike environment.
Early intervention includes assessment, nursing care, therapeutic milieu, speech, occupational, physical and developmental therapies. Mental health services may include comprehensive psychological assessment, individual and group mental health therapy and psychiatric consultation if needed.
The tender, loving care of our 24/7 around-the-clock Houseparent Caregivers provides stability and nurturance to help children thrive. Early, intensive therapeutic treatment makes all the difference. Our goal is for children to leave Our Little Haven stabilized and prepared for successful transition to their permanent placement (either return to the biological family, a relative placement or an adoptive home) following an average 3-6 months stay.
Post-placement, Our Little Haven support services are available for children following a child's treatment stay. These may include outpatient psychological and counseling services for children up to age 12 (Keystone) and/or day treatment for preschool children ages 3-6 (Our Little Academy Therapeutic Preschool).
