Clinical Social Work Practicum Experience

Keystone is excited to offer a clinical social work practicum experience.  We are open to concentration level social work graduate students who are interested in becoming mental health practitioners, and desire to work with young children in a clinical setting.

Graduate students who are placed with Keystone Mental Health Services have the opportunity to provide direct clinical services, including treatment (individual and family psychotherapy) and mental health assessments and observations.  (NOTE: Case management is not a service experience of this practicum)

Additionally, the breakdown of hours will depend on student interest, experience, and availability of opportunity, in consultation with his/her supervisor.  Possibilities include presenting on a clinical or organizational topic for in-service to Keystone staff and clinical outcome data management and treatment efficacy results reporting.

All graduate students placed with Keystone Mental Health Services will receive weekly individual clinical supervision with a licensed mental health clinician, and twice monthly Case Consultation meetings involving all Keystone clinical staff.  Consultations with experienced LCSW’s, psychologists, psychiatrist and nurse are also available.   A two-or three-semester commitment is preferred.

How to Apply:

We are accepting applications for fall of 2024.  To apply for the position, graduate students should submit a cover letter of interest and resume to:

Shana Blumenthal, MSW, LCSW

When materials have been received, the next step is an in-person interview by invitation with Keystone staff on the campus of OLH.   A student is accepted to the practicum based on the submitted materials and interview.

All persons, including students providing services at OLH are required to receive a background screening issued by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services – Family Care Safety Registry.
